“The road transport industry worked together to win laws that would make things safer and fairer. But Aldi refuses to be part of that.”

“What is the sign of a really bad company? Ongoing injuries to workers in the workplace. That just says that they’re not listening to workers.”

1700 illegally sacked Qantas workers still have not received a cent in compensation after 3 years despite billions in profits.

Will never forget this historic moment. Food delivery riders lodging the first ever application for minimum pay and entitlements under brand new laws fought for by TWU members over years. From here, the exploitative gig economy changes.

The Albanese Labor Government’s world-leading laws have allowed NSW gig workers, who aren’t actually classed as employees, to apply for minimum standards at the Fair Work Commission. Here’s what that means for riders like Utsav.

Great to join TWU NSW delegates at their conference this week to celebrate a week of wins for transport workers. Big steps taken towards minimum pay and conditions for truckies, couriers & food deliverers - all made possible by Labor’s new workplace laws.

How many times do serious workplace injuries have to happen for Aldi to listen to its workers? Time for Aldi to join the rest of the industry and commit to making road transport safer and fairer. news.com.au/finance/busine…

Hugely exciting that TWU NSW Secretary Richard Olsen will be one of the heads of the Road Transport Advisory Group under new transport reform laws. We're wasting no time working with the rest of the industry to make road transport safer and fairer. ownerdriver.com.au/twu-welcomed-t…

Meanwhile it's been a year since a unanimous High Court judgment that Qantas illegally sacked 1700 workers. They still haven't received a cent in compensation. abc.net.au/news/2024-09-1…

Workers fought for these laws because of rogue employers like Qantas. Qantas pioneered the method of creating new subsidiaries just to pay people less. A Dutton government would give free rein to companies like Qantas to drive down pay and conditions again.
