We are starting to get the library access numbers from districts across FL for the 24/25 SY. Surprising to no one (except maybe the people that claim to speak for ALL parents), a majority of students are still granted FULL access to the library by their parents. Check out Clay!

Several authors and publishing companies, including Penguin Random House, are suing the state of Florida over its "unconstitutional" ban on hundreds of books. The lawsuit argues the law "violates the First Amendment" and created a "regime of strict censorship" in schools.

Lee County’s school library access data shows again that a majority of parents want full access to the school library and trust professionals to make curation decisions. Unfortunately, Lee’s default access is not full, so 1/3 of students are restricted due to parent inaction.

Just for the record, no one was harmed in any schools today by Jodi Picoult (updates only)'s 19 Minutes. People have written her, though, and said they didn't go through with shooting plans after reading her book. Guess what's being removed from schools to protect the children?
