I am politely requesting a moratorium on reviews that begin with a desire for what they would or would not like to see as if they are a monarch awakening in the middle of the night wanting cook to bring them a pastry.

Observation: if the worldview of a theater reviewer doesn’t align with the worldview of a piece they’re reviewing, they just assume the artist has made a mistake/failed as opposed to analyzing the worldview and evaluating the piece on its own terms.
