Shout out to our 2024 interns who are on their way home, headed back to school or on to new things! The hard work of this crew helped keep things running at the ballpark this summer and will be missed. πŸ‘

Today we remember and celebrate the life of legendary actor James Earl Jones, who stopped by Memorial Stadium in 2001. He read "Casey At The Bat" to local school kids & recited The National Anthem.

In 2001, James Earl Jones read "Casey at the Bat" at Memorial Stadium, where the Fort Wayne Wizards (now TinCaps) played. He also gave the "Play Ball" at the game. In 2004, he lectured at IPFW (now PFW).

"Now, you all know these words: Play Ball!" Throwback to July 19, 2001 when James Earl Jones made a visit to Fort Wayne & the Wizards game vs. Quad City. RIP, James Earl Jones. Fort Wayne TinCaps MWL Archives

"Mighty Casey has struck out." Doesn't get any better than James Earl Jones reading Casey at the Bat before a Fort Wayne Wizards game back in 2001 here in the Summit City. Fort Wayne TinCaps MWL Archives #jamesearljones

An under-told story: The Fort Wayne TinCaps have had more on-the-rise broadcasters than any team in Minor League Baseball, and perhaps in all of pro sports, over the last 15 years. Jack Gordon is the next one with a very bright future ahead πŸš€
