A day that reminds me of the littlest things in life that we take for granted, and how quick you can lose it all.
One year later and I’m still fighting day in and out to beat the extreme odds.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make this year possible🫶🏼

Carla Ward: “It’s clear as day, everybody knows Rachel Daly takes pens. It hasn’t happened. It doesn’t matter why. It’s in-house. It can’t happen again. If we say who is on pens, they’re on pens.'
Q: Is that something you’ll speak to Alisha about?
“We have.”

Carla Ward: 'I’ve never seen anything like that in a game, the punch in the face from Cissoko is not acceptable. The melee in the dugout is absolutely not ok, from what I’ve seen. What’s frustrating is our girls were superb, they deserved more from that game.”

FT: 1-2. The 10-player visitors have held on and the (remaining) members of the West Ham bench go wild in celebration. That was probably the most bonkers final 25 minutes I've seen in this division

Paul Konchesky appears to have been sent off too, he's gone down the tunnel, although it's not entirely clear what happened there, but it was a bit of a mini-melee for a moment

Cissoko is having to be kept apart from Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah as things get heated in the technical area too, while Cissoko was supposed to be walking down the tunnel. Suddenly all the staff are squaring up to each other. Paul Konchesky looks furious.

Hawa Cissoko has been sent off (as this barmy game enter 7 mins of stoppage time). She appeared to punch Sarah Mayling in the face. Staggering stuff.

Worth also pointing out that this goal took Villa to 7 WSL goals for the season (after 3 matches) which is now more than 50% of the total league goals they scored in the entirety of last season (13)

Within moments of that penalty, Kenza Dali gets a goal back for Villa, top corner. That's been coming for a while, lots of pressure building

Lehmann's penalty is saved by Arnold and the Villa bench aren't happy that Rachel Daly didn't take it. Carla Ward says to Daly 'why aren't you [expletive] taking that? It's your penalty.' Daly raises her arms, as if to say she doesn't know why Lehmann took it

HT: Villa 0-2 West Ham, the visitors capitalising on sloppy defending, and Hayashi's finish was super, but Villa have had more of the play. Patten's header clipped the post right on half-time. The hosts have had around 70% of possession but haven't been clinical yet

Both sets of players join together to hold a 'protect the players' banner before kick-off here, just like when ENG & USA met at Wembley
