CPI’s Anthony Whealy KC has condemned the #NACC for its “silence & secrecy” saying “you can’t deter corruption by remaining silent” & calls out their “fatuous” reasons for not investigating #Robodebt “Maybe we’ve got a timid NACC rather than a courageous one” #ABC

There is not one shred of evidence that #God ever made a covenant with the people of #Israel declaring the holy land is theirs. A few zealous leaders said he did. #History is full of zealots of all faiths who claim they had undeniable messages from God. All are myths.

Rod Stewart performing "I Don't Want To Talk About It" at Royal Albert Hall, 2004. Everything was going spectacular, a legend like Rod, the voice of Amy Belle, but the Saxophone girl's solo elevates the song to sky-high levels, what a way to make the Sax almost speak. Wonderful.

🚨Former NSW minister Rob Stokes rejects NSW Libs takeover role because of other "commitments"... which are taking action on climate change. Leaves two "right wing" octogenarians (who presided over Abbott's climate denial) holding the pieces... theklaxon.com.au/tm42

The RBA forecast in early August that household consumption would grow 1.1% - result was 0.5%. Household savings forecast 1.2%. Was 0.6%. Real household disposable income forecast to grow 1.1%. It fell 0.3%. Terms of trade forecast to fall 0.9%. Result minus 3.8%

The only sustainable way to both lower inflation and boost growth is to be more productive! But yesterday’s figures show productivity fell -0.8% last quarter and was just 0.5% for the year. The Govt can start by responding to the 71 recommendations in last year’s PC report.

"To see the media now talking about the housing crisis is to be reminded of the toxic role played by the media in attacking Shorten’s sensible proposal to limit negative gearing to new residential construction." Sharp piece from Bernard Keane crikey.com.au/2024/09/05/bil…

Why be silent against the irreversible destruction being wrought by #CSG The soils of the Darling Downs & Liverpool Plains are the richest quality soils in the world. They can crack & swell depending on moisture.  They are black gold. Agriculture is more than just at the farm

Tony Windsor #CSG will prove to be one of the largest environmental disasters this country faces, causing long-term, irrevocable damage to our precious groundwater, fertile soils and food production, and yet it doesn't get a mention on the National Farmers' Federation list of Rally motives!! #NFF #MIA

Makes it hard for farmers when no one in Canberra pays any attention to the lead organisation, the NFF. Labor do little because they see the NFF as an offshoot of the Nationals and the LNP do nothing because they see them as an assumed vote.Regional issues poorly served.
