Between 2004 and 2019, annual #bus vehicle mileage in the North shrank by 114,000,000 miles – more than the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

High quality connectivity – particularly local bus services – is central to delivering the vision in our #StrategicTransportPlan .

Government interventions such as the £2 bus fare scheme are key to keeping communities and areas mobile and connected.

Transport Focus research showed the North has seen the largest increase in #bus use since the price cap was launched.

The worsening state of #bus services is a significant part of the #socialexclusion challenge present in the North.
