#BehindTheScenesMW look at the process of conservation of the Synton Hoard. The hoard consists of 228 #Roman coins, 1st - 2nd C AD. They depict Roman emperors & empresses from Vespasian to Commodus. Discovered on Synton Hill in the Scottish Borders in 2011.

This ceramic pot was found at the #Roman fort at #Inchtuthil in #Perthshire , #Scotland . It arrived from Gaul ( #France ) cAD82-87. This type is known as mica-dusted eggshell ware & was a high quality object for Roman Officers to use.
