The World Food Programme warned that, unless new funds come in, it will be forced to cut off food assistance to hundreds of thousands of Sudanese refugees in Chad.
This is unacceptable. The United States is the largest single donor nation to this effort. Now other countries need to step up.
My heart breaks for World Central Kitchen and the entire humanitarian community, which has endured so much pain and loss throughout this conflict.
Humanitarian workers must be protected as they carry out their life-saving work – in Gaza and in every conflict. Full stop.
