#EarthDay Fact: Dry Dock 1, located next to the Museum, has been used as a historical reference for the oldest known tracking of rising tide levels. Data from 1826 comes from Loammi Baldwin, Jr. a civil engineer who measured Boston’s tides while designing the dock. 🌊

Last week, we flew kites from the Commandant's House at Charlestown Navy Yard first occupied by USS CONSTITUTION Captain Samuel Nicholson in 1805. He is one of six commanders who served as Commandant of the Navy Yard and lived in this beautiful home overlooking Boston Harbor.
