His name is Ivan_MUNYE, on this day in 1994 he walked all the way to then Byumba province running away from killers. He walks the same distance every 13th April to pay tribute to departed family members. Today friends joined the cause #Kwibuka30

The Commemoration Week concludes today at Rebero Genocide Memorial. The event will be marked by a presentation on the life and the struggle of 21 politicians who were killed for opposing the Genocide Against the Tutsi.

Today I had an experience with a survivor that I've never had my whole life. I don't even know if I can even put in words the raw emotions and vulnerability I saw. 30 years or any period of time will never be enough for the survivors to heal. Mukomere, mubeho kandi mwongere 🫂❤️.
