🎉 Today our team presented Tomorrow's Cities’s approach to future visioning for disaster risk reduction. Amazing to celebrate this and other research/work packages’ achievements. Many challenges ahead though.
Stay tuned from tomorrow to Friday and follow our #allhub meeting in #kathmandu where researchers will discuss the future of our project!

Soon after the withdrawal of monsoon from Nepal 15-26 October, the snowfed Himalayas are well visible from Kathmandu. Monsoon rain has some positive impact in reducing air pollution. #Kathmandu #AirQuality Dharam Uprety

Our #holistic approach allows us to listen to what different people, from different social and cultural backgrounds have to say about their #TomorrowsCities . Together with them we are building a more #resilient future where #risk is understood and minimised.
There's nothing natural about #disasters . They're a combination of natural events, such has the heavy rain that ravaged #Venezuela , & #urbanplanning policies. When the latter fails, are the poorest communities who suffer the most serious consequences. This needs to change!
The first paper from the Tomorrow's Cities postoc group available. The paper highlights the importance of using physics-based models with high-resolution urban plans to provide dynamic hazard information at the building level for different development options.
