The August floods have devastated southeast & northeast Bangladesh. In Noakhali, floodwaters are receding, but the impact on supply chains is clear-families can’t afford meat, chicken, or fish & basic items cost 15-20 Taka more. WFP will continue its support to help them recover.

Today, WFP began 2nd phase of its flood response. 2,300 women received a cash transfer of BDT 6,000 (US$50) each. Leveraging gov't social protection systems, WFP is reaching a total of 106,000 women in the worst-affected Feni, Cumilla, Noakhali, Laxmipur & Moulvibazar districts.
