Thank you, Olena Zelenska / Олена Зеленська, for your steadfast leadership on humanitarian issues. As you said, if you feed children properly now, they will grow up to be healthy people. Know that you can count on World Food Programme to support 🇺🇦's children & families. Looking forward to continued collaboration.

Sudan’s war has raged for over 500 days. It has exposed half the population to acute hunger and led to the first confirmation of famine anywhere in the world since 2017. World Food Programme is determined to reach more people, but for that we need consistent access and ultimately peace.

3 million people are severely food insecure in Syria, a country facing one of the world’s largest displacement crises. World Food Programme can only reach 1 million hungry people right now due to funding shortfalls. We need the world to help surge humanitarian assistance. Lives depend on it.

In Lebanon, I witnessed a country at a breaking point. Escalating conflict and severe economic turmoil are exacerbating humanitarian needs and jeopardizing regional stability. The world must act now to prevent deterioration and greater suffering.

We are devastated by the loss of six of our UNRWA colleagues in Gaza, killed by an Israeli airstrike on a school. This is absolutely unacceptable and has to stop. Humanitarians must be protected. They are #NotATarget.

Saddened to hear the news of the killing of six UNRWA staff in #Gaza. Last year was the deadliest year on record for aid workers- this year looks worse. It's increasingly worrying that the protection of humanitarian workers is no longer a red line in many conflicts. #NotATarget

Every day, millions of children around the world go to school on an empty stomach – affecting their concentration and ability to learn. School meals nourish minds, bodies and futures.
