.World Health Organization (WHO) & Makerere School of Public Health initiated discussions on the possibilities of qualifying the School as a WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) in #Uganda . WHOCCs are institutions that work with WHO to perform research & provide training in furthering the health agenda.

Over 950 pple in Uganda have contracted conjunctivitis - red eye disease in 2024. This disease is preventable, but if untreated, can lead to blindness. In #Uganda , over 240 people contract TB every day. To ensure all people in #Uganda are protected from TB, WHO Uganda & partners supported the 2022 CAST-TB Campaign, screening over 2.8 million households with 40,000 cases diagnosed, among others.
