No photo I'm afraid but just as we were leaving Wardsend today we saw a pair of ravens flying over the cemetery. Quite a thrill and a first sighting at Wardsend.

It isn't only the bluebells that are adding a splash of colour at the moment. The rhododendron and apple tree near the entrance to the cemetery are currently in blossom too.

The bluebells are out at Wardsend.

Wardsend Cemetery Heritage Park Sheffield Parks would be in a lot worse state if it wasn't for all the Friend's groups. Sheffield has the biggest number of green space Friends Groups in the UK.

As I was leaving I spoke to a local resident and park user who told me about this petition. Sadly the underfunding of parks is a common theme across the country. They are vital for our mental and physical wellbeing and an important part of our heritage. chng.it/qZn7j6mJw9

This morning's bird survey has been cancelled!

'We have unfortunately got unlucky with the weather again this morning so won't be going ahead with the bird survey at wardsend cemetery today.
Hopefully we get better survey conditions next month, see you soon!
