it has got to be statistically true, by a wide margin, that Israel is the least safe country for Jews out of any country with a significant Jewish population

Don't let anyone cause you to forget that Israel bombed Iran's consulate as part of an April 1st crime spree which was unusual even for Israel. Iran is generally quite restrained, but the Netanyahu government tried to make them respond

big if true, Israel is surrounded by hostile groups which Netanyahu's government has recklessly provoked, small drones and missiles can be sent at them from all over the region, and it doesn't even require coordinate as everyone knows Iran is attacking

short stories are rarely good. Faulkner's work because they're small parts of an enormous narrative, but writers who can write incredible standalone short stories, such as Flannery O'Conner, are exceedingly uncommon
