This was one of our favorite things from our trip to NYC. The performance of Mahler's 2nd Symphony by the New York Philharmonic was divine & the first note sung by the Russian mezzo was unforgettable. The lovely quote on the program is by outgoing composer, Jaap van Zweden.

Birdland Big Band was on fire. Saxes nailed the sax solis on Step Right Up. Vocalist was 2023 Grammy Winner for vocal jazz album, Nicole Zuraitis. The bass player, Norika Oueda, was unbelievable. 2nd photo is signed by Tito Puente who wrote Oye Cómo Va, made popular by Santana.

My little rock and roll heart would like to see “Tommy” win best revival on Sunday-my head tells me it will be this one. Charming music, spacious singing voices & a poignant story brilliantly acted, all contributed to a beautiful experience. The boy who lived did not disappoint.

This sweet #guitar is on its way to us from #NYC . A 1967 #Martin D18, it has the warmest tone playing in tune all the way down the fretboard. Because it had a 48 year life before coming to us there are cosmetic flaws on the guitar, but none affect the beauty of how it plays.

#NYC thus far. 3 for 3. 💯 but Tommy was our favorite. An emotional yet intellectual experience, the drum mix was on fire, the keyboards were spot on, and the guitar work was 😘. “Tommy’s” voice was brilliant. Headed to a vintage guitar shop this afternoon. Stay tuned.
