Labour is going to announce a budget black hole everyone knew existed taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2024/07/2… In news that will surprise precisely no one, Labour is going to announce on Monday that Jeremy Hunt’s budget forecasts did not add up, even though the Office for Budget Responsibility

There is money for investment in this country, but it requires taxing wealth fairly. To deliver the real hope and real change the public is craving, the Government must have the courage to introduce a modest tax on the wealth of the super rich and invest it in the NHS and other

Disappointed. After Reigate & Banstead Borough Council refused to debate our motion to commit to a future for #Redhill's Harlequin and better interim facilities. The Arts allow us to reflect, strive, rediscover, learn and create inspiring visions of a better future. There must be a way forward

I have reported the broken bollards as reported to me yesterday for Surrey County Council Customer Services to fix. Agree That we need both stronger enforcement of parking now and stronger parking powers in future. Requested for the next round of parking consultations.

Raised this issue to Gatwick's planning inspectors at the second to last opportunity to submit evidence before the planning inquiry ends in August. Final deadline - including closing statements requested by 21 August.

Now decision will be made in public at Reigate Town Hall - 630pm on Thursday 15th August. This was refused debate and delayed a month to take place in the summer hols! But please come and speak out! The council's ruling Executive does not have to do this, it is a choice.

Jonathan Essex (@_jonathanessex) 's Twitter Profile Photo

To change this requires a parking consultation. Which will take time. There is little more that we can do as councillors in the meantime except press for the bollards to be repaired asap and enforcement to continue.

Loading and unloading means just that. The loading and unloading restrictions around the station roundabout give stronger enforcement powers

I understand that the way online delivery works is that it directs those ordering to order from the nearest store. That is where the drivers collect from

The consultation included similar plans for Grovehill and Garlands roads at the same time. A large majority objected to both. The option of residents parking for these roads, which could have garnered greater support was not considered - Although previously petitioned for.

The petition was not carried forward by the Council previously and the current consultation did not consider the option of residents parking.

I did chase this last week. Surrey County Council Customer Services highways dept referred it to the rights of way team, who I spoke to on Thursday, who referred it back to highways who are responsible for maintaining this pavement.
