We have just wrapped up a dynamic 3-day social accountability training with the Makueni Youth WASH Parliament Parliament, a promising group just 5 months into their journey of driving positive change in the water sector. Under the leadership of our CEO Malesi Shivaji, the delegates dived deep

into social accountability—what it means, identifying key tools, and even simulating how to apply these tools in real-world scenarios. The importance of feedback mechanisms and their practical application was also highlighted.

He praised the Parliament for their impressive knowledge and urged them to continue their engagement with the duty bearers. Adding to this, Carolyne Vita, the Assistant Director of Water Governance & Compliance in Makueni County Government, engaged the delegates with insights on

how to effectively use established mechanisms to foster accountability with the county government. She assured them of her full support as they advanced their efforts in the water sector. The workshop wrapped up with our Communications Officer Julie Omondi sharing valuable

strategies for leveraging social media for branding and advocacy. Delegates are now set to apply the budget tracking tool to 2 water projects and will report on their findings. #AccountabilityForWater #SocialAccountability #MakueniWASHParliament #MajiWaterKiwu #WASHForAll
