To quote Sasha Gusev , "This is the way".
This has been a special project, and one of my absolute favorite papers to write, with audrey lin 👻, Laurent Frantz, melissa hawkins, Chris Stantis, PhD and many more. The history of Coast Salish “woolly dogs” revealed by ancient genomics and Indigenous Knowledge science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Thanks for this summary, Charleston Chiang! #TAGC24
This Friday at the #AABA2024 symposium on Undermining the Production of Race Science, I'll be sharing a collaborative project with Arslan Zaidi on race scientists' continued use of a flawed method, correlating genetic ancestry to IQ, to claim genetic superiority of Europeans.
First paper from the lab! Work with Xinjun Zhang and led by super talented former USC QBIO - The 21st Century Biology Education student Tessa Ferrari. Stay tuned for a thread summarizing results.
NEWS I’m joining the editorial board at #GENETICS Genetics Society of America I'm excited to work with a strong society journal that has and is shaping our field academic.oup.com/genetics/pages… I'm in "Experimental Population & Evolutionary Genetics" but will likely handle some theory too!
It makes me immensely happy to see my first PhD student Jinguo Huang (co-advised with Mark Shriver) successfully defend her thesis with flying colors. No one warns you for that acknowledgement slide until it happens. Jinguo, I'm so proud of you.
