This week I visited PS 368 in the building that houses my former elementary school, PS 153! The school is a summer rising site and myself and @cmshaunabreu were able to see the great programs ran by @missionsocietynyc & Harlem Dawling for youth in the summertime.

Last Tuesday I attended the 44th Precinct’s National Night Out. This event promotes unity between law enforcement and the community. I also honored the officers/detectives that do great work in D16. It was great to speak with community members who came out despite the weather!

On 8.2.24 I attended one of Highbridge Community Development Corp’s Annual BBQ for seniors! It was great to spend time with the Seniors and invite them to join the D16 Senior Advisory Board. Looking forward to next year’s BBQ!

Saturday I had a great time at the Family Day’s that took place at Concourse Village and Webster Morrisania where families enjoyed a fun day with the community! Thank you the Webster Morrisania Resident Assoc. for presenting me with a leadership award!

BronxWorks Older Adult participants enjoyed a wonderful Mental Health Gardening Day at the New York Restoration Project Target Bronx Community Garden, supported by @A_Stevensd16. Seniors painted plant holders and learned how to properly plant and grow different fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of celebrating August birthdays with the wonderful seniors at PSS Highbridge Center! It’s always a privilege to honor the pioneers of our community and discuss our current priorities and ongoing projects at both the local and federal levels.

Happy first day of school! Today I spent time with students at Taft Campus and visited the Bronx Debate Academy, I.S. 229, and The New American Academy! It’s always great to talk to our youth and share with them the support they can receive from my office!
