The view from Gladstone’s waterfront right now, 12pm Monday. My mum’s at lunch and text me this from the cafe. This is the gas industry. I’d like people to remember this photo the next time you see a complaint that wind turbines or solar farms may be unpleasant to look at.

Given recent performance out of the PM's office, Anthony Albanese would get a significantly better result employing Charlie, my Labradoodle, to do all media. Just whack him on all media releases. It couldn't be any worse, and it'd cheer people up.

When a journalist reproduces and amplifies campaign material from a private organisation who has a significant vested interest in the issue at hand, is it ethical?

Senator Babet should receive more than a slap on the wrist for this. The impact on the witnesses is very serious ( I hope they sue him) and it may well discourage people from providing evidence to committee. #auspol

I remember Tim Wilson delivering two things; 1) A litany of lies via his disingenuous nonsense around 'retiree tax', 2) An attempt to have Goldstein constituents fined for putting up a sign in support of his opponent. Can you remember anything else?

Crazy idea: Instead of trying to avoid being "too soft" or "too woke" or whatever ideological position some guy in Queensland prefers, how about they just represent Victorians in line with their values? 🤷‍♂️

46 days until 3 by-elections. Only 2 candidates picked. 3rd seat was held by 606 votes by an MP now facing 10 CSA charges. 2 of 3 preselection options seeking parachutes. State Director's sacked. Now Party Executive too. Replacement says "I wasn't asked, & can't". FFS 🤦‍♂️

Hey News Breakfast why don't you replay that clip of Saul Eslake on afternoon briefing who said to calm the fuck down about the economy and stop using panicked rhetoric rather than hearing from fuckwits like Jane Hume or Angus Taylor? (Mr Eslake did not use those actual words)

In the March 2023 NSW election, Jacqui was defeated by 600 votes against the now resigned Pittwater MP. Today she's announced that she will run as a community supported independent in the Oct 19 by-election. If you can support her campaign please do so 🙌 🙏 #auspol #nswpol

Maternal Child Health Nurses have been requesting 5 weeks annual leave since 2015. This change would cost around $31k a year. But Boroondara Council has rejected our nurses again. Yet they're spending $20 million to rebuild Kew Library. What truly matters here?

I did not see this coming. Bill Shorten announces retirement from politics. Will remain in Cabinet until February. This is a significant loss for Labor. He is one of their best on policy detail and he's always across his portfolio. We're a lesser country for his 2019 loss.

Senator The Hon. Bridget McKenzie The West Australian The Nationals WA Mia Davies MLA Lachlan Hunter KeepTheSheep National Farmers' Federation Bridget, would you consider travelling side by side with the sheep to demonstrate the conditions endured for 35 days at sea? I'd be willing to reconsider my position on this if you demonstrate that it's humane to the animals, by travelling with them. x.com/senbmckenzie/s…

Fascinating conversation between Zack Exley and 💧simon holmes à court hosted by Climate 200 tonight, covering the precarious, albeit somewhat hopeful state of US politics. It was a salient reminder of why we need the community independents movement to continue to grow.
