okay my fellow UC faculty writing R01s this cycle... what are we writing in budget justifications to support UC postdoc pay rate?

Abby Buchwalter (@abbybuch) 's Twitter Profile Photo

okay science hivemind: let's say you want to know for sure that a protein is a substrate of a ubiquitin ligase. What experimental evidence do you want to see?

So our 4-year-old Thermomixer heat block has started acting out and can’t detect the heat block attachment. We’ve tried cleaning surfaces and a software update, no dice. Anyone else had this problem and fixed it? I guess this is a sign that I’m not a #newPI anymore…

We thought there wasn't much new to learn about the cell cycle. Turns out we were wrong! Our paper (out today nature) identifies a novel alternative cell cycle that regulates differentiation, not cell division. tinyurl.com/4a6yeuke. 1/10

As American Society for Cell Biology abstract deadlines approach, I'm realizing that there is little nuclear cell biology in this year's program. Huh. Good motivation to revive it next year. Will you be there, nuclear friends? LusKing Lab Lammerding Lab Bahmanyar lab Dan Starr ....
