The first juvenile Yellow-legged Gulls appeared at #LMGP this week, three of them from the 16th. Also a juv Med Gull on the 17th. Great Crested Grebe broods are also appearing, two so far and more to come.

Pleasing to see good numbers of House Martins, adult and juvenile, lined up on wires at Emmetts this week. Presumably from the Little Marlow nests. 52 birds in the first photo.

Juvenile large gulls are now appearing at #LMGP. I saw my first Herring Gull this morning along with 4 LBB Gulls and 2 Yellow-legged. Nice comparison of Yellow-legged and LBB Gull below. Also an odd sighting of a migrant Yellow Wagtail on industrial rooves at Emmetts

Three Sandwich Terns were resting up on the spit at #LMGP when I arrived this morning at 06:15, all moulting adults. Apparently gone by 08:15. This is my 14th record here, mostly singletons, but out of 6 flocks, 5 have been of 3 birds and 1 of 4, never any juvs #patchbirdfacts

A few record shots of the 3 Sandwich Terns at #LMGP this morning. Always great to find these on an inland patch.

An early migrant Spotted Flycatcher flew through Emmetts this morning, grabbed a quick record pic for this patch year tick. Also a lemony Willow Warbler, first of the Autumn. Finches look to have bred OK too - lots of juv Goldies and also Linnet.

An interesting juvenile gull at #LMGP yesterday morning that seems to be a Mediterranean x Black-headed Gull hybrid Bird Hybrids - 1st 3 photos. Last photo is a proper juvenile Med Gull seen there this morning.

First bird I saw at #LMGP this morning was this huge looking Great White Egret, # 130 for the patch year list. Also found a couple of Striped Lychnis caterpillars on an unmown Dark Mullein right next to a busy road - new for patch BC Upper Thames

Back from holidaying and back on patch at #LMGP. Juv Black-tailed Godwit and Yellow-legged Gull this morning. On Sunday morning, a calling Tree Pipit over the north fields was patch year tick #131.

I took a short video of this morning's juv Black-tailed godwit at #LMGP just as it decided to fly off c06:30.

Passerine migrants seem a bit thin on the ground on my patch at the moment, so pleased to hear, then see a flock of 3 Tree Pipits fly over this morning. Pic is of a Red Kite seeing off a juv Peregrine shorty afterwards - taken into the sun.

A migrant flock of Common Terns flew in to #LMGP yesterday morning, including 2 1st summer types, 3 juvs and 3 adults - a strange combo. This is one of the 1st summer types.

It's taken a while, but eventually found a patch Redstart for the year. This juv female type was at the top of Emmett's in a hedge that has attracted them before. #132 for the year - slow going, but creeping onwards.

A bit of patch gold for me this morning, only my 3rd Grasshopper Warbler popped briefly out of some scrub at Emmett's and promptly disappeared again.

A quick wander around my #LMGP patch yesterday late pm. An interesting looking Baltic/intermedius type gull, probably 3cy, unfortunately flew off as soon as I saw it. Also my first Wheatear of the Autumn and a tatty looking Painted Lady.

Distant BOC crop of 2 of 3 Sandwich Terns that arrived at #LMGP at 07:50 today. This adult and juv were still there when I left.

An excellent passage of terns through #LMGP today. After 3 Sandwich Terns early on (2 adults and a juv), an adult Little Tern was found mid morning plus 4 more adult Sandwich Terns. A few more Common Terns arrived too, up to 10 overall.
