Nearly done equipping our deck. The last missing piece is a fire pit and probably another shade umbrella. We added a used natural gas grill this week: bigger for entertaining and won't run empty. Come hang with us sometime.

New application for laser engravers: we could burn the burger order on the bottom of the bun so we can keep track of who wants a toasted bun, who wants what cheese, meat, etc. Cookouts would be super easy.

Been playing Cyberpunk 2077 now that I have a desktop that can actually run it. The little mobile phone ringing in-game is kind of silly when I have a real phone nearby. Would love if games leveraged my second screen. (Web app would be cheapest.)

I hate pre-commit and pre-push hooks too. Run them in CI and have them fail there. There should be no barrier to get code out of my brain and into a PR. Once it's out there, it can get cleaned up. (All checks should be able to be run locally on demand, but not blocking.)

Certainly broke my tailbone on Saturday. Some idiot used a large, pointy rock to hold a hose in place at the bottom of an inflatable waterslide. I landed hard on the rock and it's still rather painful to get up and down from chairs two days later. 😡

Before and after: cold smoking half a tub of sea salt flakes this morning. I also tried a big brick of Cheddar cheese, we'll see how it is in a week or two.
