Today we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day & celebrate the cultures, contributions & resiliency of the First Nations, Inuit & Métis peoples of Turtle Island. NIPD falls on June 21 because of the significance of the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year.

YRDSB families with young children enjoyed a delightful story time with a local Jewish author who shared her lyrical story exploring the joy of making challah and preparing for Shabbat. We wish all our Jewish families at the YRDSB a Shabbat Shalom!

Today we commemorate the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism and remember those who have lost their lives to acts of terrorism and all those affected.
