After years of being told there wasn't a market for this kind of book, you can now pre-order my first book "Black.Fat.Femme: Revealing the Power of Visibly Queer Voices in Media and Learning to Love Yourself". Available March 25, 2025. doctorjonpaul.com/blackfatfemmebโ€ฆ

I thought my perversion to podcasts & audiobooks was me being a contrarian as usual. Turns out, I struggle with auditory processing, it frustrates my brain and so my brain created a negative association to these popular forms of media lol. Am I alone?

A reminder that only 6% of published authors are Black. The number for Black queer published authors are even slimmer. Purchase my first book, Black. Fat. Femme: Revealing the Power of Visibly Queer Voices in Media and Learning to Love Yourself, below:

Other than โ€œBlack excellenceโ€ being an annoying & corny phrase, when folk harp on that as a descriptor I wonder where is the space for the Black mediocre? The Black mundane? You see how ridiculous it is to do this? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Thereโ€™s certainly something to be said about the lack of cultural & social learning of girlhood due to the loss of teen magazines of the early 2000s. We had: Teen, Seventeen, Twist, J-14, Tiger Beat, Teen People, Cosmo Girl, Elle Girl, YM, etc. Now we only have Teen Vogue?

Your eternal reminder to stop settling for being reimbursed for work trips or other related work expenses. They have the money. Make *them* pay for it up front or say no.

Incredible opportunity to connect, build & share with incarcerated writers. I logged my interest in the attached Google Form and encourage my fellow writers to do the same.
