What if we took a "disclosure of learning process" approach rather than prevent and punish approach? Ask students to show how tech (and people!) helped them along the way. This would enhance their metacogition and give us insights on how they learn these with or without AI

I am protective of my organic writing process, but when it's time to edit, ChatGPT sometimes helps me notice which sentences aren't quite put together as they should be. When I ask it why it suggested a revision, it sometimes describes a word choice nuance I hadn't thought of.

one thing coming up in the debate about the pause letter i really agree with: openai should make a great alignment dataset and alignment evals and release those! bonus points if we can find a prototype democratic process for 'what we align to'.
