.USAID Ethiopia was honored to have the Melkassa Ag. Research Center receive us last week, to see how Feed the Future partners with Ethiopian and U.S. researchers are preserving the biodiversity of sorghum and breed varieties resistant to disease and climate change.
Over 100 individuals gathered in Niamey, Niger, at the SMIL West Africa Annual Meeting. It was co-hosted by K-State-based SMIL & Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique. Sorghum & millet research & best practices were shared by participants from 9 countries, including Senegal, Madagascar, Haiti & Ethiopia.

We had a wonderful visit to sorghum & peanut adaptation trails at Ihosy, Ambovambe & Mahajanga in Madagascar. APEMBA project is being implemented by FOFIFA, GCSM & Peanut Innovation lab supported by USAID Madagascar Feed the Future Global Collaboration on Sorghum and Millet🌾 K-State College of Agriculture Feed the Future Peanut Innovation Lab
