Never did I imagine that when you were sixteen we would shop for wigs instead of make up and clothes. Never did I imagine you having chemo and radiotherapy. Never did I imagine you would never be twenty years old. Never did I imagine I would plan your funeral. Never did I imagine

I had my tooth extracted at midday. Apparently, the roots are very deep. The dentist said this would make it harder to have my teeth knocked out! The pain is now subsiding and the anesthetic is wearing off. My pain is nothing compared to what Charlotte had to deal with,

Fortunately was given a course of antibiotics which I have just started. Pain from my tooth extraction has been quite bad especially overnight. Never mind as long as it's better before I start radiotherapy. This morning, before my run, I had a lovely walk on The South Downs.

Day three of five completed. Today I sat staring at changing room number one, waiting to be called in. I stood alone in there remembering how Charlotte would look at herself in the mirror. We were so worried that, in addition to losing her hair, she might lose her eye lashes.

Today Miles is 30 and I know his sister, Charlotte, would have been very proud of him. He had quite a journey in his twenties, especially watching his younger sister pass slowly and painfully from grade four brain cancer (Glioblastoma).  He had to suspend his undergraduate

Day four of five done. One more to go. I don't think I could face another day. While I was waiting to get changed a young girl of around sixteen appeared and walked through the department. She had no hair and was clutching a sick bowl and towel. She hung onto her mothers arm in

Day five of five done. I have finished radiotherapy. After the final session today, I walked past the young persons' unit and stood on a grass verge overlooking the car park. I had stood there many times as it was one of the few places where there was enough signal to make phone

Having, on Tuesday, finished my five days of radiotherapy, I feel really well (except from evening tiredness). I spoke to a friend over Twitter this morning who had exactly the same treatment as me; she found the same. Hopefully, like her, the tiredness will only last a week or
