Some of us enter academia and our very existence conflicts with people’s deeply held ideas about who belongs in academia. When you’re carded at your (UK) university because you’re black, your existence is the change and the conflict comes to you.

(I'm getting back into seriously reading fiction for the first time in decades)

Apparently at my current pace (which I know can be even faster), I can read over 70 books per year just by consistently setting aside 50 minutes daily. That's great because I'd like to get through about a novel each week in addition to all the non-fiction reading I need to do.
