#OTD, 9/8/1781, the Battle of Eutaw Springs occurred in South Carolina, resulting in a strategic American victory. For his leadership at the battle, Congress awarded Gen. Nathanael Greene a gold medal. This bronze medal from our museum collections is a restrike of the original.
