I heard Tom read this at the Reading for Pleasure 🧶 Notts Conference - it’s a beautiful story of how it feels to discover reading and how it helps you to grow. It’s an absolute must have, wonderful for chn/adults. A true reflection of a reading journey and the hope reading gives to all.

These pages are from Lucy & Tom From A to Z. Shirley was a master at the cut away house. She must have had spent hour upon hour sketching and filling Lucy and Tom’s house, so careful to get each detail absolutely right.

I just loved this keynote from Teresa Cremin - passionate, practical and powerful. If children don't love reading, they just won't choose to do it. We have to inspire children with a self-determined desire to read, not just teach them about language and literary techniques.

I always get excited about building and developing reading relationships with my new pupils at the start of a school year. Can't wait to hear what they think about reading, which authors and poets they enjoy, what their reading habits are and how they view themselves as a reader.

3KC loved ending the day with #empathy with the new book from the awesome Tom Percival. It fits in beautifully with reading for pleasure showing the power of books building bridges to new places. We reflected on the kindness shown at the end of the story💕 EmpathyLabUK

Just wonderful hearing Teachers prioritising the joy of reading in their classrooms today Townville Academy “Can we read a book together” brought music to our ears. We are seeing so many areas that are reacting to the chn’s interests. Staff taking time to ask the chn too 🧡💙

Doing a reading survey with a class at the start of the year is always incredibly useful. More skate magazines and books about engineering, increase my range of character voices from three and give them (even more) reading time. Great way to start building reading relationships.

Love celebrating the summer reading challenge with our children. We had the Library come in and launch before summer and then I wait for all my lovely summer readers to bring their certificates in. I particularly love the book chat in my office. St. Matthew's C.E. Primary School
