I have built a domesday device which, if detonated, will catalogue all the lands and holdings of the great magnates of England.

The increasing number of mudlarks scraping with trowels and handheld rakes is also having an impact. Where one person scraping might not do much damage, several people scraping at the same spot on successive tides has a significant impact on erosion 1/2

Dr Tess Machling ArchaeoFLO Portable Antiquities The problem has been whilst there has been plenty of carrot there is little stick. The PAS model needs so much more additional money. The mechanism of its management has not been successful in making arguments for sustained funding. It has so much potential but needs a reset

With only around 10% of England and Wales' estimated 40,000 detectorists record with the PAS. Many don't even know we exist, what the code of responsible detecting is, or about Treasure legislation. The hobby's leaders need to step up to help with education. They have the funds!

We should be thankful for Ian Hislop. Someone who is never afraid of telling it how it is. Unlike most of the UK media It's extraordinary that someone speaking common sense with such clarity is such a rarity in our media.

CUT TO WINTER FUEL PAYMENT Feel free to attack me for saying this (I’m thick skinned) but one rule I’ve always lived by is to do what I believe in my heart to be right & just. If I don’t speak out now I’ll be doing an enormous disservice to our elderly & and I just won’t do that

My thoughts about detecting & torcs - how much has been lost & what we will gain if we do things properly. #Archaeology #Archaeologists #Torcs #Gold #Detecting #Detectorists Please share. Thank you 😊 bigbookoftorcs.com/2024/09/11/det…

An important piece examining the vital information that is iretrievably lost when hoards are not excavated using the tried and archaeological process. Found a hoard while metal detecting? Stop digging! Call the excavation hotline number on the back of your #NCMD card Portable Antiquities

Many people own and use metal detectors – as individuals, as members of clubs, or on archaeological projects. #Responsible #metaldetecting has an important part to play in researching our past. It can help identify unknown archaeological sites and locate historic finds 🧵

Trump will be remembered in history for giving the internet such an amazing gift… It will be an even bigger gift to Harris and America in general though.
