Loved #clapforourcarers tonight. At 8 PM sharp, we all stood outside our doors/stuck our heads out our windows and lofts to applaud #OurNHSPeople. Was emotional and lovely and wonderful and so very much needed. Same time next week? I think so.

*manages to get twins down for a nap (finally!)* *reaches over for a tissue and manages to knock down a dump truck which smashes into a digger which hits a plastic singing dinosaur.* Cue hysterical crying (from both babies and me). Such is the life of parenting 3 under 3.

Can anyone recommend a veg and fruit delivery company that delivers to Kingston, Surrey, KT6? A dear friend of mine lives alone but is self-isolating and can't get any online slots at the major supermarkets ... most of the recs I've got only deliver to London postcodes.

Thank goodness for Iceland Foods ❄️ - the only supermarket I could get a grocery delivery slot for my mother-in-law who currently has a potential broken arm and is self-isolating in a remote village. Some great fresh food options too. Feeling so relieved she's stocked up now.

Ok, this is driving me crazy, but I can't seem to find the #supportsmallbusiness sticker in Instagram stories? I've got loads of small businesses I'd like to give a shoutout to! Have Googled already before you ask. Send help pls.

Ha! Need this. Although, my parenting strategy throughout the first 12 months of our twins' lives has been to, quite simply, 'wing it'. And it's worked out pretty well. So far.

Perked up on hearing Ziyad Marar's comments re: diversity + inclusivity in book publishing. Sadly, I have also encountered hiring discrimination (at interview stage!) during my career - in 2011, not even 1989. 'So much work needs to be done'. But how and what? #ipgsc

Particularly welcome was Ziyad Marar's introduction to Leading Routes - an organization that seeks to 'strengthen the academic pipeline' for Black students. Academics of color are incredibly under-represented in academic publishing, in my experience and opinion. #ipgsc

Really liked Andy Rossiter's (Rossiter Books) comments about consumers' 'deliberate spending' - particularly with indies - one of the outcomes of the pandemic. Spending habits have definitely changed; from supporting indies to making more mindful + sustainable purchases. #ipgsc

Absolutely - went into my local Waterstones for the first time since the pandemic started a few weeks ago and realized how much I'd missed their well-curated tables and knowledgeable, friendly staff! Spent far more than I'd anticipated that day. And was happy to. #ipgsc

We're remembering the many PoC nurses who are often left out of key conversations this #InternationalNursesDay. Milcah recently wrote about why the government need to acknowledge the disproportionate infection and death rate of Filipino NHS staff bit.ly/3uN2N31
