"The reality in America is back to school season is school shooting season," Dr. Dr. Annie Andrews, Everytown for Gun Safety senior adviser, pediatrician, and an advocate for kids’ health and safety, told Peter Alexander on MSNBC. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/s…

Watch our founder Dr. Annie Andrews break down what can be done to prevent school shootings. Right now “back to school season is school shooting season” in America, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

What happened in #apalachee today is part of the uniquely American Public Health Crisis that is decimating families, communities, and the entire nation! The suspect is reportedly 14-years old. 76% of youth school shooters get their firearms from the home. This Is Preventable.

The students at Apalachee HS started school a month ago. Today some won’t come home, because the gun lobby’s profits were prioritized over their safety. These could be your kids. These could be my kids. So I ask what any parent would. “What are we doing about the guns?”

Georgia has some of the weakest gun laws in the country: ❌ No minimum age to purchase rifles ❌ No background check law ❌ No secure storage requirement ✅ Allows open carry ✅ Allows permitless carry ✅ Allows K-12 teachers to carry guns

Dr. Annie Andrews criticizes Georgia's gun laws in MSNBC appearance: “There is a direct, clear link between a state's gun law strength and the rate of firearm injury and mortality in that state.” ABC News 4 abcnews4.com/news/local/dr-…

Back to school season should NEVER be marred by gun violence. Dr. Annie Andrews is right: We MUST elect lawmakers who are committed to enacting strong gun safety laws that PREVENT shootings like what took place at Apalachee High School in Georgia today. Take action with us. Find

The suspected shooter in Georgia is just 14 years old. A 14 year-old cant buy a gun from a licensed dealer. But the gun industry still irresponsibly markets firearms to teens.🧵

Last year, the student responsible for today’s shooting threatened to kill people at school. Because there wasn’t “probable cause,” the FBI made no arrests. Georgia doesn’t have a red flag law, so police also didn’t remove guns from the 13 year old’s home. wsbtv.com/news/local/bar…

No parent should receive a text like this. No child or educator should be forced to endure this. No person in America should accept this. Demand action with us: Text ACT to 644-33.

Governor Kemp refuses to answer a question about how to make Georgia schools safer from gun violence: “This is not the day to talk about safety or policy. We need thoughts and prayers for the victims, law enforcement and educators.” Would he say that if a plane had just crashed?

“This is not the day to talk about safety or policy” — Gov. Brian Kemp, who has an A-rating from the NRA. Thoughts & prayers aren’t saving the lives of American children.

To Brian Kemp, Henry McMaster & all of their feckless GOP buddies: “I hope you see images of bloody school children when you close your eyes at night. I hope you hear their screams.” Please read my latest for ⁦The Arena⁩ 💔 thearenasc.com/p/kids-dont-wa…
