Steph Curry's ankle is fine after the tweak the other night. Warriors resting him today, but Steve Kerr said he could've played, if needed. Gary Payton II's calf tightness puts his status more in doubt: 'We'll see over the next couple days on his availability for the play-in.'

The Golden State Warriors are planning to convert two-way center Usman Garuba to a standard NBA deal for the rest of the season, sources tell The Athletic Stadium. Garuba will fill Warriors' final roster spot and is playoff-eligible.

Here is Steph Curry on the ramifications of the loss to the Pelicans and whether rest will be the priority on Sunday

Kings lose. Lakers move into the #8 spot. If LA beats the Pelicans on Sunday, it'll be Warriors vs Kings in the 9 v 10 matchup (in Sac if Kings beat Blazers). If Lakers lose, Kings get #8 with win over Blazers. If Lakers/Kings lose, Warriors can still get #8 with win over Jazz.

Steve Kerr on whether the Warriors (now very likely buried in the 9 v 10 side of the play-in) could rest guys on Sunday vs Jazz: 'Oh, hell yeah...I'm much more interested in our ability to be ready for next week.'

Steph Curry had a leaning 3 to tie late, but missed. Warriors lose to the Pelicans, falling back to the #10 seed. If the Kings finish off the Suns (currently up 85-78 in 4Q), that'll lock the Warriors into the 9 vs 10 side of the play-in bracket.

Seventeen made 3s for CJ McCollum the last two nights. Pelicans with a chance to sweep the Kings, Warriors road back-to-back. Up 112-106 on the Warriors with 1:02 left.

The Pelicans just blasted the Warriors 45-22 in the second quarter. They hit 10 3s in 12 minutes and turned the Warriors over nine times. Steph Curry had four second quarter turnovers. Warriors were up 11 and are now down 14 at half.

Two 3s from CJ McCollum during this 11-0 Pelicans surge. He had nine 3s last night in Sacramento. New Orleans up 38-35.

Lakers survive in Memphis, heightening pressure on the Warriors and Kings to win and stay out of 10th tonight. Warriors up 21-15 early on the Pelicans. Kings about to tip vs Suns.

Jonathan Kuminga and Gary Payton II are out tonight vs the Pelicans. Kuminga banged up his tailbone in Portland and is “in a lot of pain,” per Kerr. Payton has calf tightness and Warriors are being cautious.

Other notables

*De'Aaron Fox twisted his ankle late in Kings loss last night, but isn't on injury report vs Suns. Huerter/Monk only Kings out. Phoenix has full rotation.

*Pelicans will be without Brandon Ingram, Larry Nance, Naji Marshall vs Warriors
