We applied methods proposed by @wimpouw to better understand the effect of limb motion on speech acoustics. This is part of Hélène Serré Helene's PhD, currently at ZAS Berlin. Congratulations!

My mother didn't really think anything about my academic endeavors before I started teaching. I guess teaching is more prestigious than doing science.

So, while recording articulation with 13 sensors the subject fell asleep multiple times. I guess that's another thing I need to check before the participants come in.

Nice: Estonian research council opens grant for hiring researchers from abroad; competitive salary for 2yrs (50-50 split bw uni & council) with very little strings attached. I'm sure both my employers (@TallinnUni/Tallinn University School of Humanities 🇺🇦 &EBS) would be happy to help;) etag.ee/en/funding/mob…

Anyone that uses EMA for recording articulation is familiar with how different speakers can be. Has anyone noticed any patterns? For example, if the speaker has not eaten before the experiment or has not slept, there is a lot more saliva and the sensors come off easily?
