I just can’t get past Labour winning 65% of seats off 34% of the vote. Absolutely wild mismatch between the headline result and, well, everything else. Britain is now a multi-party system, and first-past-the-post can’t cope.

Amazing! But this is really only the start of turning the tide. If the left is not serious about radical change, it will only serve the far right. Still, huge relief!

I've just received this terrible news about the arrest of dear colleague Bahruz Samadov (the Lack Observer) in Azerbaijan. He is a Charles University PhD candidate, and a critic of the Aliyev regime. This is a clear case of political imprisonment. A campaign for his freedom is urgently needed!
