Last night I was honoured to present the 2,000th Point of Light award to Rob Burrow CBE. Rob's work shining a light on Motor Neurone Disease and funding research and care is nothing short of inspirational. It will change what it means to be diagnosed with #MND. Thank you, Rob.

Thank you to everyone who came to today's meeting of the APPG. We heard about how the #CostOfLivingCrisis disproportionately affects people with #MND and other terminal illnesses, and what Government can do about this.

Today we held the Annual General Meeting of the APPG on #MND. We're pleased to have successfully re-formed with Andrew Lewer continuing as Chair and with lan Byrne MP, Mary Robinson & Brendan Clarke-Smith as Officers. Thanks to the 20 Parliamentarians who attended.

The APPG on #MND would like to offer sincere thanks to @just_jamessmith for sharing his story as somebody living with motor neurone disease. James highlighted pressing issues such as delays in diagnosis and access to trials. The #MND community needs hope.

Our Chair has written to Minister of State for Science Andrew Griffith MP regarding the recent appraisal decision taken by NICE on tofersen. Andrew Lewer highlighted this decision goes against advice from patient organisations, including MND Association and leading #MND clinical experts.

Parliament was prorogued on Friday 24 May and will be dissolved on Thursday 30 May. All APPGs including the APPG on MND will also be dissolved and will cease to exist. The new Parliament will first meet on Tuesday 9 July. We hope to see the APPG on MND re-formed soon after.
