Today Chair of the APPG on MND Andrew Lewer raised the challenges unpaid MND carers face around accessing respite services. Good to hear Helen Whately MP commit to reviewing specialist training for MND for the social care workforce in upcoming social care reforms.
Grateful to Helen Whately MP for the support she and Ministerial colleagues have shown in responding to concerns, and facilitating access to funding for MND research.

Last night I was honoured to present the 2,000th Point of Light award to Rob Burrow CBE. Rob's work shining a light on Motor Neurone Disease and funding research and care is nothing short of inspirational. It will change what it means to be diagnosed with #MND. Thank you, Rob.

I am delighted to continue as Chairman for the APPG on Motor Neurone Disease after our AGM this morning. It was followed by a superb presentation from Ammar Al-Chalabi who updated Parliamentarians on the progress of emerging treatments and the next steps for the £50m and MND Research Institute.

Today we held the Annual General Meeting of the APPG on #MND. We're pleased to have successfully re-formed with Andrew Lewer continuing as Chair and with lan Byrne MP, Mary Robinson & Brendan Clarke-Smith as Officers. Thanks to the 20 Parliamentarians who attended.
Our Chair has written to Minister of State for Science Andrew Griffith MP regarding the recent appraisal decision taken by NICE on tofersen. Andrew Lewer highlighted this decision goes against advice from patient organisations, including MND Association and leading #MND clinical experts.
