👍🏽 interview OKM! You highlighted strengths for investors in M’sia really well (for those who want to catch just the OKM / M’sia part, it starts at the ~ 18” mark) The q I suppose is how does one ensure more “localization” Any thoughts?

The M'sian economy is vibing nicely — thx to a happy confluence of domestic reforms & external boosts! For ex, on the domestic front, the govt has rolled out a diesel subsidy reform (nice move!) But there're 2 other fiscal reforms that haven't rec'd much attention — probably

MALAYSIA rightly prides itself as an open, trading nation Ever wonder though what are some fun, quirky, unusual items entering 🇲🇾's borders? With a h/t to my sporting Ambassador friends, Comtrade & Fionne Lim, here goes: __________ Argentina Malaysia’s polo fields? Not

Msia's journey a bit like "she loves me, she loves me not"! 1. Bursts into the T10 in 2006, holding strong until 2012 2. Briefly flirts with the T10 again in 2013 & 2014, only to drop off the radar until 2020-2021 3. And since then, eluded the T10 spotlight But France! Wow!

Here's a pop quiz on the eve of 🇲🇾's 67th Merdeka Day What do you think is Malaysia’s share of the global economy? FYI, USA & China lead with ~26% & ~17% So, without peeking ahead, what’s your guess for Msia's share of the global economy? 🧵

Now, for another pop quiz...but I promise no trick Qs this time🙏 In global affairs, political clout follows mostly from economic strength So, given Malaysia’s <1% share of the global economy Do you think Malaysia punches above or below its economic weight on the world stage?

In my previous posting, I was car-free for 5 glorious years — even when contending with minus 15C weather! In M’sia, ended up with a car in less than a month of moving here — for all the reasons mentioned by Ding Jo-Ann below!

Stuck in KL traffic, I asked Chatgpt to update BRICS to also include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia & UAE This is what it gave “BRICSEEISU” which, of course, stands for: “Big Really Important Countries Seeking Economic Expansion In Strategic Unions” 🙃
