Not a bad tipping debut for The Irish Field with four of my top selections winning at the Curragh today, including 13/2 shot Ostraka. ‘Next best’ selections included 20/1 second Solar Breeze and 6/1 winner Ameerat Jumaira 🥇

Despite a drop in key figures, there were plenty of uplifting stories from Day 1 of the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale, where a daughter of Havana Grey topped trade at £240,000 eu1.hubs.ly/H0bZWFc0

I just learned about a young man facing a huge challenge after a spinal cord injury. He needs support to adapt his home and car for independence. Please consider donating or sharing. gofund.me/cf360133

Delighted to highlight the achievements of Caoimhe Doherty in The Irish Field. Had she not set up Treo Eile, Ireland’s thoroughbred aftercare would be in an embarrassing state. She’s proven it’s possible for anyone to make a difference and more people should follow her lead 🙌🏼

Stories of breeders hitting the jackpot has spurred Paul Giles on through a life in horses. He’d sold clients horses for up to 200k, but his own had made up to 42k. This week, he sold homebreds for 68k & 350k, becoming the latest to prove it can be done theirishfield.ie/breeder-paul-g…

The real issue here is failure of the Irish industry to get fully behind and support an aftercare body which provides viable solutions and works towards traceability. To also have real concrete aftercare policy and commitments that everyone can get behind.

Disappointed that the French horses are absent since recording the podcast and that tactics will now be the focus of the Champion Stakes, which now looks set up for Auguste Rodin. I’d like to see Ghostwriter run another big race- he’s got the best form with absent City Of Troy

👇🏼 One of many great lines from Patrick Cooper BBA Ireland in The Irish Field Big Interview. A really interesting chat made for plenty of timely food for thought on a big weekend for Irish racing and in the midst of the yearling sales season theirishfield.ie/racing/racing-…

A weekend of top-class racing in Ireland, but for a raceday experience, The Curragh Racecourse was a clear winner. The biggest crowd & best atmosphere I’ve seen since the new design. The facilities were in top shape, with lots of entertainment for kids, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day 👏🏼
