I said some years ago that the Conservatives needed to find their Sir Michael Barber (or, indeed, find him), because his ‘deliverology’ is the key to governmental efficiency (and so political success). This augurs well for Starmer's programme of reform (especially in Health).

Wrote about Tory leadership contenders on China w/ tabloid style ratings (sorry). TLDR: don’t believe campaign rhetoric. Tugendhat 👍 Jenrick 👍 Badenoch 🤔Cleverly 😱

In many ways, Graham Linehan @glinner is a hero of this age. A truly gifted artist who has paid a heavy price (and ‘heavy’ is so inadequate here) for challenging the zeitgeist of transgender activism. He dares ‘to show.. the very age and body of the time his form and pressure’.🙇‍♂️

I've come to believe that abolition of the House of Lords would now be a truly conservative act: not radical, but profoundly conservative. After the Blair wreckage, and the perpetual partisan ‘stuffing’, abolition is the only way to conserve what is good in the Constitution.

I'm all for inter-religious or interfaith dialogue, but this is just extraordinary. The Gospel is not universalist in its soteriology: it is Jesus who saves. It seems the Archbishop of Canterbury is more Catholic than the Pope of Rome.

I think this is what Yvette Cooper might call “extreme misogyny”. I look forward to seeing how the Home Office clamps down on these “hateful beliefs”.

What absolute nonsense. Don't most people want to work hard to do better by their own families? To have a better house, better holidays, better furniture? Isn't that a worthwhile thing? Wouldn't life be very much better if more people took responsibility for their families and

As long as he understands that he'll also be reintroducing nationwide secondary moderns, and a nationwide 11+, and thousands of successful academies and free schools will lose the top 10% of their academically gifted pupils, and this will do nothing for social mobility.

Some prime ministers categorically do not rely on donations for their clothes, and have no problem at all looking their best — or even quite spectacular.

‘the Free Church of England (FCE), dismissed the Rev Brett Murphy last month after ruling that the “nature and tone” of videos he posted online had brought the church “into disrepute”.’ Does Rev'd Brett Murphy now lead the Really Free Church of England? telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/1…

I've never seen this either from Ian Austin: I only know other details because I follow Charlie Peters, who has done more than any to shine a light into the darkness. This is a national scandal: collusion in paedophilia and rape is manifest. Why doesn't it merit a public inquiry?

Slightly disappointed the salary isn't £66,666. Why not just preach: ‘There is neither Jew nor Greek.. for ye are all one in Christ Jesus’, and exhort congregations to live it? Isn't that *being* a “racially-just Church”? And then they can finance three more stipendiary priests.

Just to thank and commend the Rev'd Canon Prof. Mark Chapman for his 32 years of ministry in Cuddesdon (Vice Principal of Ripon College Cuddesdon; Professor of the History of Modern Theology, University of Oxford) on his retirement, to whom a whole generation of ordinands owe their formation.🙏
