We oppose Ofgem plans to allow energy suppliers to offer tariffs exclusively for new customers. This risks penalising loyal customers - particularly the millions in energy debt who can't switch to new firms. Shockingly, Ofgem's consultation doesn't mention people in debt once.

Top half term holiday parenting tip. No matter how sweet they are, how much they plead with the biggest, sweetest brown eyes. Do NOT say yes to a 2 scooper icecream.

Update.Turns out they eat their babies, even the mother. To save babies you buy a ‘maternity box’, separate out the preggo fish & hope you get her out of the box after birth before she gobbles them. Just saw them hunt a baby down. Dark. But hey,we’re not over run with baby 🐠 🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting to see cost of living one of voters' top priorities but it doesn't seem like that's coming through in commitments from the main parties as yet - here's hoping for some concrete proposals in the manifestos when they come.

In a new blog we model how energy prices affect budgets, and discuss the need for better support. If bills return to historic norms, 1.5 mil more would be in a negative budget than pre-crisis. Another drastic price increase could push 850,000 into the red. Read the blog 👇

In the 5 weeks since this election was announced, CitizensAdvice has helped 30,000 people with access to crisis support. That’s food banks and charity grants. It's essential that both leaders set out how they plan to tackle the landslide in living standards. #LeadersDebate

Nearly 5 million people are in a negative budget. This means they're building up debt to get by, cutting their essential spending back to unsafe levels. If this was you, would you be able to survive on a negative budget? ⤵️

26-year-old Kyle Clifford is being hunted by police. It’s a fast moving situation and there’s a lot we don’t know. But there is one thing that we DO know. And it’s depressingly, devastatingly familiar. Three woman are dead. They were killed in their home. A mum, she was 61, and

Today's the #KingsSpeech - and @citizensadvice we know the number one issue facing the people we help is living standards: paying the bills, making rent and putting food on the table. A few thoughts on what we're hoping to see from the new government..

Clare Moriarty (@claremoriarty) 's Twitter Profile Photo

In today’s #KingsSpeech the new government set out their priorities.  It’s good to see a focus on support for renters and a commitment to ending no-fault evictions. Likewise a promise to bring in the long-awaited employment rights bill 1/3

I’ve done many ‘scary’ things in my career including live tv interviews, giving evidence to select committees and presentations at large conferences. None have scared me as much as 10 four year old girls coming to my house for a princess unicorn party this morning. Send help.

Great news that Ofgem has extended rules that ensure fairer access to energy deals for all consumers, including 2.3 million households who can’t switch supplier due to debt. A market of unsustainable deals won’t deliver the higher standards and low carbon innovation we need.

A 10% rise in energy bills comes at the worst time for millions of families who are still struggling. 1 in 4 people told us these costs could mean they’d have to turn off their heating or hot water. The govt must tackle this challenge and support those who need it most

Surveying the wreckage of my house after the first week back at school, including the first ever day at school for my youngest, coincided with a particularly hectic work week. Giving serious thought to whether it might be easier just to blow it up and start again at this point

Heat networks provide an essential service but they aren't regulated, leaving consumers dangerously exposed to harm. In this podcast I talk about CitizensAdvice's new role as the consumer advocate, and our priorities for incoming regulation. hubs.li/Q02Phg250

Ofgem’s new Consumer Confidence vision identifies key areas that we’ve been highlighting CitizensAdvice - improving billing and smart metering and driving better consumer outcomes on the road to net zero. We now need to see this flow through to policy change as soon as possible
