A busy day with residents meetings & a ward walk with our MCC City Centre neighbourhoods team looking at opportunities on how the Mirabel St area can be improved including greening opportunities and cleaning challenges at the nearby construction site and carpark. Watch this space!
I’ve been working with Manchester City Council to enhance the EV charging strategy to include provision to accommodate urban residents. The paper will be coming to Environment and Neighbourhood scrutiny next week. Happy to see on street charging points included: democracy.manchester.gov.uk/documents/s487…
Great to see the drains on Hulme St unblocked with one problematic drain left & planned for a further deep clean. Thank you to Manchester City Council officers & MCC City Centre team for working with Deansgate Labour cllrs to get this sorted

We’ve been extending our chewing gum awareness & clean up trial. The scheme run and supported by Keep Manchester Tidy, MCC City Centre & Deansgate Labour cllrs raise awareness of the blight of chewing gum by highlighting and deep cleaning an area. Quay St is looking much tidier!!
I’ve signed this petition. There are many proud Labour Party and Co-operative Party MPs and Cllrs and this should be reflected in the press. Co-op ideas, values and policies are vital to fixing 14 years of Tory disaster
I’m pleased to announce I’m the new Deputy Executive Member for Environment. Really looking forward to working with Tracey Rawlins to deliver on our ambitious plans in environment, climate change, highways and transport. 😊
Ending no fault evictions is a massive benefit for many of our city centre residents. Having experienced no fault evictions in the past, I know how stressful and disruptive it is to people’s lives. Transformative The Labour Party policy in action!!
At Executive Joanna Midgley updated on the launch of the walk safe app. This will massively help residents & visitors walk across our city safely. MCC City Centre neighbourhood team are briefing students about the app on the run up to freshers week. More info: manchester.gov.uk/walksafe
