Our last conference of the semester here at Yale ISPS. We will explore the place of the irrational (passions, emotions, identities) in political judgment & #deliberativedemocracy. H/T to Theophile Penigaud who is the mastermind behind this.

New paper on the intellectual transformations that rendered colonialism into a generic name for European rule over Asia and Africa. It is also a study of the fundamental theoretical tension that marked the category's twentieth-century history.
