ATF personnel took a chilly dip into the Chesapeake Bay last week at the 2024 Beary White Police Plunge! We joined dozens of local, state, and federal law enforcement from all over Maryland in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support Special Olympics Maryland and its athletes.

K9 Rosie and her handler, M/DSFM Wrenn, were assigned to the Maryland State House today to keep those inside safe. Rosie is one of two ATF Baltimore explosive detection K9s assigned to the OSFM, and their noses can detect up to 19,000 explosive combinations.

UPDATE: Please be advised this is an isolated incident, not an active shooter. Avoid the area. The reunification center for parents to pick up their students is Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.

Agents are assisting Harford Sheriff after reports of a shooter at Joppatowne High School. There are no outstanding threats at the school at this time. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency on this investigation. We are asking the public to avoid the area.
