The spirit of our politics fills us with hate and mistrust of others. Our hearts, minds and social media are saturated with disdain. This is evil. Take time for honest assessment. If anger and vilification are present in your soul and politics renounce it.

Visited the plain cross grave of Thomas Merton. May his words inspire you. "The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them."

Psalms 24:3-4 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? Those who have clean hands and pure hearts, who do not lift up their souls to what is false, and do not swear deceitfully.

Meaningful change doesn't come from shouting out, but from showing up

Kids ask 300 questions a day. I have 5 kids in our home right now That is 1,500 questions a day! I don't have all the answers, but I hope in every response they hear love and feel seen.

Politics aside, my goal in life is to live in such a way that my son can be this proud of me.
