#Asters, with their delicate, starry blooms, grace the Garden as summer gently transitions to autumn. These daisy-like #flowers are beloved not just for their delicate charm, but also for their resilience - thriving in cooler temperatures when many other flowers have faded.

With its dramatic dark foliage and bottlebrush blooms, #Actaea brings a unique depth to the Garden. Its white or pink-tinged #flowers attract pollinators and fill the air with a sweet scent. Pair with #Aconitum for a captivating contrast of colour and texture that draws the eye.

#Colchicums, often known as autumn crocuses, grace the #Garden with their delicate blooms just as the days begin to shorten. Though they share a name with their springtime counterparts, these elegant flowers are not true crocuses but instead belonging to the lily family.

Elliottia paniculata, a rare treasure hidden in the pages of our Garden’s history, has been rediscovered after quietly slipping from records for over 40 years. Originally planted in 1937 and one of few in cultivation, this unique beauty boasts delicate clusters of creamy flowers.

The delicate leaves of #Acer palmatum ‘Sango-kaku’ are beginning to shift from their summer green to a golden hue, soon to be followed by fiery oranges and reds. Whether bathed in morning light or set against a blue sky, it offers a glimpse of the vibrant display yet to come.

As September settles in, the Garden awakens to mornings like this - where the light of sunrise bathes North Park in a golden glow. The season's subtle shift brings cooler nights & softer light at dawn, creating an interplay of haze & warm hues that dance across the landscape.
